Service Description
Journey through La Minorista Market, Medellín’s biggest food hub. Taste exotic fruits — uchuva, gulupa, lulo, chirimolla, feijoa — with our local guide explaining flavor and cultural context. Includes coffee/tea pairing and peppered fruit bites. We start the walk at 10am sharp at the main entrance, next to the pedestrian bridge, on Avenida El Ferrocaril. Jose will be waiting outside for you. We continue to the second floor and go have tinto at a local spot inside, while we gather the group. We then head to our first food stand where Alonso is going to show us some local fruits and veggies. We always buy our food supplies with him: great prices, fresh food, amazing vibes. Next, we walk around the sides so we can see the real Minorista market and the not-so-touristy spots inside. We then head downstairs to meet Buey (Ox) he has a food stand that specializes in exotic fruits from Colombia and South America. We will stay and taste as many as we can and then walk some more checking out the fish and meat markets inside. We will stop for questions and comments, and you can also shop for takeout, we actually encourage it. The end of our walk will at the main entrance again, where everyone can safely catch a cab or uber to their next destination.
